ABOUT THE PROJECT

Doug Dean Reserve Wetland

The Construction of a wetlands in the Doug Dean reserve forms an integral component of the extensive flood mitigation and drainage works carried out by the Ballarat City Council over the past 12 months. The wetlands play a key role in assisting with stormwater flow detentions and reduce the impact of flooding downstream, in particular, the local Primary School and surrounding streets.
It also treats inflowing storm water, assisting in the removal of sediment and nutrients which will improve water quality flowing into natural streams.

  • Construction of Pipe and Box Culvert Drainage
  • Pit & Wingwall construction
  • Basin Clay Lining
  • Construction of Concrete Weir & Rock Beaching
  • Soil Reinstatement
  • Hydro Seeding
