ABOUT THE PROJECT
Dungowan Dam Crest Protection
Dungowan Dam sits approximately 50km from Tamworth and was built in 1957.The dam was raised in 1991/92 to increase its flood handling capacity and today can hold up to 6.3 gigalitres of water. In 2016, in keeping with new Dam Safety guidelines, Tamworth Regional Council decided to further upgrade the risk protection of the dam. This included the construction of a 200 metre long, 6 metre wide reinforced concrete slab on top of the existing dam crest
