ABOUT THE PROJECT
Gavin Park Wetland - Pascoe Vale
The Gavin Park Wetland project was completed as a part of Moreland City Council and Melbourne Water’s commitment to a sustainable stormwater strategy. The scope of the project included the construction of a water quality treatment wetland at the existing playground area at Gavin Park in Westbreen Creek, Pascoe Vale.
The new wetland system will filter local stormwater through a series of sediment ponds and a bioretention area, eventually releasing a higher quality water back into Melbourne’s waterways. The area will also become a new habitat for aquatic and bird species, providing a mutually beneficial asset to the community
