ABOUT THE PROJECT

Mint Street Wetlands

As part of the Kinston City Council Plan to improve the local drainage network and minimise the impact of severe weather events in the area Entracon has been engaged to construct new large diameter stormwater pipes along Kinross Ave to quickly and efficiently drain stormwater from the roadway onto the grassed area of Edithvale Common. A pumping station will then disperse the water throughout the parkland merging  with an existing Melbourne Water Main Drain.

  • Construction of a deep stormwater pumping station;
  • Installation of pumps and a rising main;
  • Installation of a control panel and electricity and communications infrastructure; and
  • Construction of a shed over the pumping station

KEY ASPECTS

  • Deep excavation > 10m
  • Installing drainage at 4m below water table
  • Poor ground conditions
