The Bruce Highway – Cairns Southern Access Corridor project involved upgrading 2.6km of the Bruce Highway from four to six lanes to provide long term improvements to traffic flow, freight delivery and road safety south of Cairns. Stage 4: Kate Street to Aumuller Street project is part of the 15-year Bruce Highway Upgrade Program, a $13 billion program of works to improve safety, flood resilience and capacity along the Bruce Highway from Brisbane to Cairns.
