ABOUT THE PROJECT

Rye Landfill Capping

Site Issues:

  • sourcing suitable capping clay
  • capping clay moisture control
  • environmental control i.e. mud on road, etc
  • strong winds

Works Undertaken:

  • sourcing & testing clay capping
  • exposing of existing clay liner at edge of cell
  • heavy impact rolling to consolidate waste prior to placement of clay
  • placement of 600mm clay liner
  • placement of sand & topsoil
  • hydromulch of capped cell with native grass
