ABOUT THE PROJECT
Stony Creek Wetland & Pump Station
The Upper Stony Creek Project in Sunshine North was designed to rejuvenate and transform the existing retarding basin into a natural, revegetated wetland system adjoining Stony Creek. The site was enhanced with a wetlands area and native plantings, connected community spaces and a walking trail creating a natural space with improved environmental values for passive recreation and relaxation. Due to asbestos contamination, the planned removal of the existing concrete channel was omitted.
