ABOUT THE PROJECT

Yarra River Shared Boardwalk

The Yarra River Shared Boardwalk is a shared user path structure running along the Yarra River, on the Capital City Trail, passing beneath Church Street in South Yarra. The structure is a steel and timber boardwalk structure, with a timber deck and asphalt path surface. Over time the decking has deteriorated with cracking and loss of asphalt appearing in the paths. Entracon is replacing the current decking system with a plywood deck and laying a new asphalt path.

Works Include:

• Removal and re-installation of existing timber kerbs
• Installation of new plywood decking members
• Installation of new asphalt wearing surface
• Rehabilitation of split timber piles and damaged cross bracing
• Installation of new hardwood balustrade & anti-climb mesh

Key Aspects:

• Traffic and Pedestrian Management
• Working alongside a live waterway
• High profile area
• Protection of existing vegetation
