ABOUT THE PROJECT
Minta Estate wetland Stage 3 & 4 Embankment Works and East West Channel BERWICK
The wetlands, embankment and East West Channel are all part of the Stormwater Management Plan for Minta Estate in Berwick, currently under development by Stockland. This Plan minimises disturbance of native vegetation and protects ecological values within the environmentally sensitive area, while providing habitat for the endangered Growling Grass Frog.

- Topsoiling and landscaping
- Stabilisation of existing lake embankment
- Placement of 1800mw of geofabric clay liner (GCL)
- Insitu stabilisation of batters using bentonite and lime stabilisation
- Constructions of overflow pipework
- Construction of overflow spillway
KEY ASPECTS
- Construction included using sheet piles to enable pit construction for outfalls into the existing lake
- Significant environmental measures were established to enable construction in the environmentally sensitive areas
- Management of water in an operational lake environment
