ABOUT THE PROJECT

Mint Street Wetlands

As part of the Knox Community and Council Plan to enhance and maximise the use and care of Dandenong Creek, council along with Melbourne Water designed the new Mint Street Wetlands in Wantirna. Entracon was engaged to construct the new wetlands and storm water harvesting scheme, which included the removal of an 830m section of pipe that hid the creek from view. The enhanced creek features new secure habitats for threatened native fish species and will encourage many new billabong inhabitants. In only a matter of weeks from completion a healthy frog colony had already established itself .
