ABOUT THE PROJECT
Yarrowee River Rehabilitation SEBASTOPOL
The Yarrowee River has historically been an important centre piece in the Ballarat area. The Yarrawee River Rehabilitation works is part of a 2020 Master Plan designed to protect, enhance and harness this valued community asset.
Entracon Civil has been contracted to conduct rehabilitation works along a 1.8 km length of the Yarrowee River to assist in protecting the banks of the river from erosion in key locations, including an area across from the Ballarat South Waste Water Treatment Plant (BSWWTP) lagoons, where the lagoons are at risk of slipping into the river.
WORKS
- 255 lineal metres rock beaching (3,800 tonne of rock0, including placement of geotextile, rock filter layers, armour rock and toe rock.
- Construction of four rock groynes
- Placement of 150m2 geoweb including bank filling works and toe rock placement

- Working with CCMA, CoB, CHW and Alluvium to ensure that construction methodology minimised sediment generated from excavator works
