ABOUT THE PROJECT

Fraser Ave Main Drain Upgrade

Kingston City Council are upgrading the drainage infrastructure within its boundaries. The works cov­ered by this contract include Stage 2 of Council’s drainage infrastructure upgrade for the Fraser Avenue Catchment. The major component of Stage 2 is the main stormwater pumping station to be located within the Chelsea Public Golf Course grounds. This pumping station will service 70 Hectares of resi­dential properties and will also deliver water for re-use to the neighbouring Edithvale Recreation Re­serve.

Works Include:

• Construction of a large storm water drainage pipe and pits
• Construction of a deep storm water pumping station
• Installation of pumps and a rising main
• Installation of a control panel, electricity and communications infrastructure
• Installation of a shed over the pump station
• Design and construction of irrigation system

• Tight delivery timeframe
• Stringent environmental controls to protect adjacent internationally recognised wetlands
• Acid sulphate soils
• Poor soil conditions
